A Place of Her Own

This anthology features twelve short stories by four new Tamil women writers, Ja. Deepa, Ramya, Kamaladevi, and Suchitra. We celebrate these authors for their masterful storytelling and vision of individual liberation. For this collection, we have selected each author's most acclaimed and widely discussed stories. Ja. Deepa's "A Hidden Face" has earned praise in Tamil literary circles for illuminating the hidden costs of the Independence struggle. Ramya's "Dust" was widely talked about for its portrayal of the "mad hue of resolution" dulled by everyday banality. Suchitra's "Light" and Kamaladevi's "Radiance" both delve into liberation through beauty, passion, and acceptance. 

These stories deeply resonate with our vision of aesthetic liberation. They seek to follow paths to finding oneself through passion, grace, compassion, and a divine attentiveness to the innermost self.
